This ceramic inhaler has suffered a great deal of pain throughout the process of becoming a pipe. First it's trunk came off, then some serious dermal discoloration. Yet it is believed to absorb so much bad luck that it will bring good luck to it's users. When I first found it, I didn't know what it was for (not entirely sure even now). After a little investigation I figured it must be an inhaler (mainly just because of the shape and how the air went through it). When shaken it had some grains in its stomach - figured i needed to get those out. The stomach had ceramic screens on both ends - and as I wanted to use the bottom one for later and didn't want to drill a hole in it, I went for the one inside the back of it's head. There was a tiny (about 5mm) hole at the base of it's trunk which enabled reach the screen with a drill. A little slip of my hand, and the trunk broke off. This enabled be to reach the screen better and soon some tiny pebbles came out of the elephant. At that point I was beginning to think that maybe it's some sort of water purifier. Luckily I was able to reattach the trunk and also seal the hole at the base of it with some putty. Then I decided to paint it over - as the local handicraft shop did no have acryllic paint I settled for some oil based paint. After about 3 weeks of drying and the paint was still wet I decied to just wipe the most of it off.
